UGANDA:Fresh Information On Kabaka's New Wife Emerges

The mysterious mother of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s new baby boy hails from Bulemezi, a high ranking Kingdom official has revealed.

Our impeccable source, who has worked for Kabaka for 16 years, says the King met this lady while relaxing at his palace in Bulemezi in November 2010.

The king was charmed by the ‘traditional elegance’ of the lady, whose residence was located a few metres away from his palace.

According to the Ganda culture, all women in the Kingdom are the king’s wives.

Mutebi subsequently made love to her at Bulemezi palace.

It was after a month that she communicated to Kabaka’s aides at Bulemezi that she was pregnant with Mutebi’s kid.

“This has been a top secret. When the Kabaka got to know that this lady was pregnant, he directed his aides to immediately shift her to the Bulemezi palace for royal care till she gave birth last July,” a source recounts.

“The Kabaka was impressed when the baby boy was born. He was later named Omulangira Richard Ssemakokiro. What is happening now is that the Kingdom is trying to bring the mother to Kireka Palace in style,” the source notes.

However, the King’s new wife is not so smashing for the media.

The knowledgeable source says she was a local woman who had no access to lip gloss and make up and it would take time to for her to attend public functions.

Our up-to-date source further notes she is not 'so learned.'

The news of Ssemakokiro's birth have sparked mixed reactions on social networking websites Facebook and Twitter.

Mutebi wedded Nnabagereka Sylvia Nagginda of Omusu (edible rat) clan in a colourful ceremony on August 27 1999 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Namirembe.

President Yoweri Museveni was the chief guest at this function.

Nagginda is the mother of Buganda kingdom’s princess, Katrina Sarah Ssangalyambogo, her only child to date.

She gave birth to Ssangalyambogo on July 4 2001 at Queen Charlotte’s Chelsea Hospital in United Kingdom.

The new development highlights the clash between the Buganda traditional culture which permits Kabaka to have as many wives as he wishes and the Anglican religion which strictly emphasizes monogamy.

The source has turned down our pleas to reveal the identity of the King’s new wife, saying he needs time for ‘reflection.’
