Today a delegation of 10 women visited Ms. Victoire INGABIRE in Kigali maximum Prison.They came from different locations of the country to express their solidarity. Ms. Victoire INGABIRE briefed the visitors on her conditions of incarceration. She is preparing her appeal bail hearing on 13.12.2010 but the security personnel has denied her the right to discuss with her lawyer in private. The jailers informed that they will no longer allow her a private discussion with her defense counsel because they don't want anybody to know about her conditions in jail.
On the other side she can't discuss her defense strategy in the presence of the Criminal Investigation Department officers or Military Intelligence Operatives. This will have a serious impact on her announced Court hearing and a possible postponement until she is allowed to discuss with her lawyer is an open question.
