Tanzania’s Jay Dee Celebrates 10 Years of Achievement in Music

Tanzania's top musician who probably tops East Africa's most successful female singers celebrated 10 years in music last night at a club she performs in every Friday in Dar es salaam, Tanzania. "Its been a long walk to where we are at now, we are enjoying success but we are not yet where we are heading so the journey continues" remarked an excited Jaydee as she performed to a fired crowd that showered her with gifts and applause though out the night.
Jay Dee is popularly known in Kenya for her hits like Siku hazigandi, Mawazo, Anita (With Matonya) and most recent collabo with Kidum, Nitafanya. She is the proud leader of her band, Machozi Band which is among the most popular in Dar es salaam and that has a very busy weekly schedule, beginning each Thursday to Sunday she has regular shows at different pubs.
She is a step ahead of most Kenyan musicians who mostly ride on recorded music for live shows. Challenge to our musicians, step up. We congratulate her and we pray she continues with the same spirit of putting Tanzania and East Africa on the map.
